Dr. Arewo Stein is a famous explorer who, like Kolorado, visits various archaeological sites. Dr. Stein first appeared in the game For the Frog the Bell Tolls, and then in Wario Land 4, where he was exploring the Golden Pyramid.

Dr. Arewo Stein first appeared in the first episode of the Marx Saga, where he gathers a team of explorers, namely Prof. Frankly, Kolorado, Kooper, Goombella, Captain Toad and Toadette, as well as the renowned scientist Elvin Gadd, to explore the Golden Pyramid once again. Unfortunately, disaster strikes on the way there, forcing them to contact Team Mario to fend off random attackers.
